"Sweet Pea" was built in 1942 as an AT-7. AT-7's were built for the Army for any number of uses from Bomber/Bombardier/Navigation trainer, aerial reconnaissance, air ambulance, officer transport and others. "Sweet Pea" was used for search and rescue and spent its military career on floats in Alaskan waters. In 1954 she returned to the Beechcraft factory and was remanufactured as a C-45H. She was rebuilt in 1994 to her current configuration which has a 7 seat "corporate" interior and has recently been upgraded with modern Garmin avionics and satellite weather.
Look for "Sweat Pea" flown by Michael Mancuso in the upcoming De Niro film, "The Good Shepherd" starring Robert De Niro, Angelina Jolie, Matt Damon, Joe Pesce, Alec Baldwin, John Tutorro and more about the early years of the CIA.
Flights in this beautifully restored WWII warbird start at $250 for four people. We will take our guests on a trip back in time in this beautiful piece of flying history. They will enjoy the spectacular aerial view of our famous Long Island beaches before returning to Brookhaven Airport up to 30 minutes later.
If you are looking for an even more special holiday gift this season, consider one of these options:
• Have a fifth passenger join your captain in the cockpit as copilot and actually fly
the aircraft as we lumber along the beach, in the Beech. Add $75.
• Five seats not enough? How about making it a gift for six? Add $50.
• Extend your flight for six to a full hour. $650
